Fans of Mortal Kombat 1 may look forward to an exciting future because the game's director, Ed Boon, has revealed plans for a story DLC as well as a mysterious major expansion in the works. The statement was revealed during a panel discussion at the CCXP23 event in Brazil, where Boon gave insights into the franchise's future trajectory.
In answer to a question from the event's emcee about impending Mortal Kombat developments, Boon stated,
"Just like we did with Mortal Kombat 11, we're going to release a second part with more story."
Building anticipation further, he cryptically added,
"And we have a big surprise after that, so we're going to be supporting the game for even longer than we did with Mortal Kombat 11. It's gonna be fun."
The announcement that Quan Chi would join the fray as a DLC character on December 14 for early access gamers and December 21 for the general public has already sparked interest among the Mortal Kombat community. Following Quan Chi, players can look forward to Khameleon's arrival in January.
Fans can expect an extended and intense Mortal Kombat experience as the game develops with planned DLC and surprises.
