Sony has confirmed a new PlayStation State of Play showcase for June 2, 2026, which is already shaping up to be one of the summer's biggest gaming events. While E3 is no longer in being, June remains the busiest month for major announcements, and PlayStation appears to be ready to kick things off with a jam-packed presentation featuring PS5 updates, new trailers, release dates, and surprise reveals.
The upcoming showcase is expected to last more than an hour and will include games from both PlayStation Studios and third-party partners all over the world. One of the most anticipated superhero titles from Insomniac Games, the studio behind Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, will be given a closer look.
Sony has confirmed that the livestream will begin at 2 PM PT on June 2. Depending on your region, the event may air late at night or early the following morning. Here are the major global start times:
2:00 PM PT
4:00 PM CT
5:00 PM ET
10:00 PM BST
11:00 PM CEST
6:00 AM JST (June 3)
7:00 AM AET (June 3)
Fans are especially eager to see more of Marvel's Wolverine, with reports claiming the game will be released on September 15, 2026. Following recent comments from PlayStation leadership about future platform strategy, the title could become one of Sony's first major single-player exclusives to skip a PC release.
Beyond Wolverine, speculation about the showcase is already gaining popularity. Sony has teased updates from "top studios around the world," paving the way for several rumored projects and long-awaited sequels to be revealed. Some of the games fans are hoping to see are God of War Trilogy Remake, Marathon, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, Kena: Scars of Kosmora, and Horizon Hunters Gathering.
Sony is also likely to go back games shown at the State of Play event in February. Silent Hill: Downfall, Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2, Project Windless, and Castlevania: Belmont's Curse may receive new gameplay footage or official release dates.
Third-party reveals could also play a significant role in the event. Fans are still waiting for information on Kingdom Hearts IV, the next chapter of Final Fantasy VII Remake, and Capcom's rumored new projects, including future entries in the Onimusha and Mega Man series.
The State of Play livestream will be available on PlayStation's official YouTube and Twitch channels, and many creators are expected to host live reactions and co-streams throughout the event. With first-party exclusives, surprise reveals, and major PS5 announcements all expected, Sony's June showcase could be one of its largest in recent years.
