Capcom has announced that the upcoming sci-fi action game Pragmata will be released earlier than expected. The publisher confirmed during its most recent Spotlight Showcase that the Pragmata release date has been moved up to April 17, a week earlier than the previously scheduled April 24 launch.
While Capcom did not explain why the date was changed, the earlier launch means that players will be able to play the game sooner than expected.
Pragmata New Trailer Shows More Gameplay
Alongside the release date update, Capcom released a fresh trailer that offers a closer look at the game’s unique combat system.
Pragmata focuses on two main characters Hugh, a space explorer, and Diana, a mysterious android girl. Throughout the game, players must control Hugh in combat while Diana supports him by hacking enemy systems.
The gameplay mixes traditional shooting mechanics with quick hacking puzzles. During battles, players must shoot robotic enemies while simultaneously breaking through their defenses using Diana’s hacking abilities, creating a fast-paced multitasking system.
A Sci-Fi Adventure on the Moon
The main story of Pragmata takes place in the near future at a lunar research station. Hugh and Diana must collaborate to survive and escape the facility after an unexpected crisis occurs.
The moon base contains dangerous robots and hidden systems that players must hack and manipulate. Diana's abilities are critical in solving puzzles and disabling enemy defences, so the two characters must work together.
During the presentation, Capcom also revealed a quirky robot named Cabin, who serves as a guide in a safe hub area known as a Shelter. Cabin can even play music, which Diana happily dances to in a strange but charming moment that injects personality into the otherwise tense sci-fi setting.
Pragmata Launches Next Month

The new release date may also allow Pragmata to avoid a crowded launch window. By moving to April 17, the game will arrive nearly two weeks before Housemarque's upcoming sci-fi title, Saros, which will be released on April 30.
That extra space may give Capcom's new IP a better chance of capturing attention before another major genre release arrives. After several years of delays, Pragmata is finally set to launch, and players will soon see how Capcom's unique blend of shooting and hacking gameplay works.
Pragmata now launches April 17 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
