The story trailer for Ubisoft's next 2.5D action platformer, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, has been leaked ahead of its scheduled debut at The Game Awards. The official PlayStation Brazil YouTube account accidentally posted the clip too soon, allowing curious users to download and share it before it was quickly removed.
The leaked trailer not only gave a glimpse into the game's plot but it also revealed that a free demo for Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown will be available on January 11, a week before the full game is released on January 18. The game will be available on a variety of platforms, including the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.
The Lost Crown, described by Ubisoft as a "action-adventure platformer game set in a mythological Persian world," introduces players as Sargon, a talented warrior and member of the exclusive group known as The Immortals. In this new adventure, players will climb the cursed and treacherous Mount Qaf in order to rescue Prince Ghassan.
The game's promotional blurb emphasises the perilous aspect of time as Sargon and his allies seek to restore the world's equilibrium. Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, inspired by the Metroidvania structure, allows players to explore a handcrafted world at their own pace, featuring diverse environments inspired by Persian mythology, from the majestic Citadel of Knowledge to the vibrant landscapes of the Hyrcanian Forest.
Previously, during Ubisoft Forward in June, a playable trailer for Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown was shown, providing a look of the game's mechanics and features supported by developer commentary. The leaked tale video has contributed to the hype for this highly anticipated title, promising an immersive experience in a mythical Persian land when it officially launches in January 2023.
