Capcom is preparing for the next phase of Resident Evil Requiem, and the message from its creators is clear: finish the main story soon. In a recent interview, director Koshi Nakanishi and producer Masato Kumazawa revealed new information about upcoming content, including the fact that a new mini-game DLC is almost ready and will be available only after completing the main campaign.

The developers hinted that now is the ideal time to wrap up the story, especially as Golden Week approaches (April 29–May 6). According to Kumazawa, players who want to dive into the new content as soon as it becomes available should aim to complete the game during the holiday season, ensuring they're fully prepared for what's next.

Resident Evil Requiem Mini-Game DLC Focuses on Combat-Heavy Action

Unlike story expansions, the upcoming mini-game will be fast-paced and combat-focused. Nakanishi confirmed that it will be strictly single-player and based on the battle mechanics players have already mastered in the main game. However, he teased that it will offer a more intense and chaotic twist, aimed at players who want to “go wild” after completing the story.

The mini-game is currently in the final stages of development indicating that a release is near. While Capcom has yet to reveal an exact launch date, all signs point to an imminent release.

Story DLC is Still in Development

Beyond the mini-game, a larger story DLC is in the works—but fans will have to be patient. Nakanishi confirmed that the expansion is in full production, but he did not provide specific details or a release timeline. Given Capcom’s busy development schedule, industry speculation suggests the story DLC could arrive in late 2026 or even slip into 2027.

Leon's Mystery Deepens

One of the most heated discussions among fans has been a minor detail involving series protagonist Leon S. Kennedy. Players noticed Leon wearing a wedding ring near the end of the game, prompting widespread speculation about his personal life.

When asked if this mystery would be resolved, Nakanishi confirmed that answers would be forthcoming—but not anytime soon. He explained that the ring was intentionally kept subtle to avoid distracting from the story, but it was meant to represent Leon's growth and changes over time.

Resident Evil Requiem is generating a lot of buzz, and it's not going anywhere. The game has already sold over 7 million copies in its first two months marking an impressive milestone. With new content on the way and fan interest growing around its story threads, Capcom appears to be well-positioned to keep players engaged in the long run.

For the time being, the developers' advice is straightforward: finish the game, stay prepared, and keep an eye out for the next wave of Resident Evil Requiem content, which is closer than you think.
