A new GameStop listing has possibly uncovered a big surprise for Resident Evil Requiem. It seems Rosemary Winters might be added as a second playable character. This detail was found on the retailer's product page for the PC Deluxe Edition, where bonus content was listed before it was quietly removed. One of the listed add-ons was a Shadow Walker Costume Pack, which was described as including “three exclusive outfits for Rosemary Winters.” Another item mentioned was a Morphic Visor Cosmetic Filter, said to provide a special visual effect “for Rose’s visor.”

These references sparked a lot of discussion among fans, as Capcom has only officially announced one playable character so far: Grace Ashcroft, the daughter of Alyssa Ashcroft from Resident Evil Outbreak.

If true, Rosemary's inclusion would continue the franchise's tradition of connecting characters across generations. Rose is the daughter of Ethan Winters and Mia Winters, the main characters from Resident Evil Village. At just six months old during the events of Village, her involvement could still make sense, given the series' history of time jumps.

More Than Just Cosmetics?

The same listing also mentioned The Sanctuary Expansion Pass, which supposedly includes two new story scenarios and a major update to the Mercenaries mode.

However, it's Rosemary's name that has fans talking. Whether she is:

  • a fully playable secondary character,

  • a companion AI partner,

  • part of a separate DLC campaign,

  • or simply a mistaken reference intended for Grace,

remains unknown.

Industry Insider Urges Caution

The leak was shared by well-known Resident Evil insider AestheticGamer, also known as Dusk Golem. They confirmed that the text appeared on GameStop’s official website but urged fans not to make any hasty decisions.

Although they admitted the listing was genuine, they pointed out that the mention of Rose "raises some red flags."

They suggested the information might be old or wrong. “I feel like something isn’t right here,” they said, telling fans to be cautious and not take the leak at face value until Capcom gives an official statement.

Resident Evil Requiem is set to release on February 27, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, Switch 2, and PC.
