
Rocksteady the developer of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, experienced unexpected problems shortly after the game's early access release. Less than an hour into the much anticipated debut, users found a significant glitch that tagged the game as completed upon their first login.
Although the official release date for the online co-op title is February 2, players who purchased the most expensive Deluxe Edition were able to start playing 72 hours sooner. As the first territory to go live, New Zealand saw an increase in abroad gamers taking use of a common region trick on Xbox consoles to gain early access to Suicide Squad.
However, the excitement was short-lived as Rocksteady quickly decided to shut down the servers, citing the need for an investigation into the auto-game-completion issue. The studio alerted gamers that the downtime was necessary for significant maintenance which was expected to last several hours.
In a formal statement, Rocksteady acknowledged the situation, saying,
"We're aware that a number of players are currently experiencing an issue whereby upon logging into the game for the first time, they have full story completion. To resolve this issue, we will be performing maintenance on the game servers. During this time, the game will be unavailable. We expect this to take several hours and will update once we have more information. We apologize for the inconvenience."
After several delays, the highly anticipated Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will be released on February 2, 2024, for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam. The event has given an element of unpredictability to the game's release, with players eagerly anticipating Rocksteady's conclusion and the opportunity to dive into the universe of Suicide Squad without accidentally spoilers.
