Fans eagerly awaiting the release of Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl have received miserable news from GSC Game World, the creator of the well-liked Stalker franchise. The highly anticipated survival game, which was once scheduled for a Q1 2024 release following a 2023 delay, will now release on September 5, 2024, the Ukrainian company has confirmed.
The decision to postpone the game was made in response to a variety of feedback from thousands of players who had the chance to play it over the latter part of the previous year. Although GSC Game World expressed gratitude to the fans for their support, it was soon apparent that more time was needed for technological improvements in order to improve the overall gaming experience.
The release date for Stalker 2 has been elusive since February 2022, when Russia invaded Ukraine. Following the invasion GSC Game World, which had its headquarters in Kiev at first, moved some of its operations to the Czech Republic. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is scheduled to release on PC and Xbox Series X/S, and it will be playable on Game Pass right away.
