The character creation menu in Starfield offers a bunch of options, including traits for your in-game character. One of the coolest traits is Alien DNA, which gives your character the benefits of having alien DNA experimentally added to their body.
But is picking the Alien DNA trait a good move in the game? That's what we're here to find out. From its perks to whether you can ditch the trait, keep reading to learn all about Alien DNA, one of the 17 traits you can choose from in Starfield.
Is Alien DNA Worth It in Starfield?

If you're diving into Starfield, starting with Alien DNA is a smart move. It gives you a sweet +50 boost to both your HP and O2 right off the bat. This means you can explore those risky areas or planets without stressing too much about running out of oxygen or health.
But here's the catch: Alien DNA cuts down the effectiveness of your healing items by 20% and health packs by 25%. This makes things a bit tricky as you progress in the game. My advice? Start with Alien DNA and ditch it later when boosting your HP and O2 gets tougher.
The cool thing is, Alien DNA works well with all the other 16 traits in the game, so you can mix and match it with any traits you like.
How To Remove Alien DNA In Starfield
Want to get rid of the Alien DNA trait in Starfield? Just head over to any doctor at the nearest Reliant Medical, like the one in the Residential District of New Atlantis, and pay them 10,000 Credits. Once it's gone, your healing items and packs will work just fine again.
