Stellar Blade Officially Confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2

Nintendo Switch 2 owners will soon have the opportunity to play one of the most talked-about action games in recent years. During the most recent Nintendo Direct, developer Shift Up confirmed that Stellar Blade will be available on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026, marking another major platform expansion for the popular sci-fi action game.

The announcement was part of a larger trend of third-party support for Nintendo's new console. Several high-profile Switch 2 games were announced during the showcase, including Lies of P, Dragon's Dogma 2, and Onimusha: Way of the Sword. While some of these titles received release dates, Stellar Blade's Switch 2 version was only given a 2026 launch date.

Stellar Blade which was originally released for PlayStation and later expanded to PC, follows Eve, a powerful warrior sent to reclaim Earth after humanity has been pushed to the brink of extinction. Most survivors have escaped into space, leaving the planet in the hands of mysterious creatures known as the Naytiba. Players must battle through dangerous environments to uncover the truth about humanity's demise.

One of the game's main strengths is its fast-paced combat system. Throughout the adventure, players can use stylish combo attacks, unlock powerful abilities, and face off against challenging enemies and bosses. The game has been praised for its fluid action mechanics, detailed visuals, and memorable boss battles.

Stellar Blade's Nintendo Switch 2 version is expected to include previously released content, such as Boss Challenge Mode, in which players can battle Mann, the Sentinels' leader, as well as Japanese and Chinese voice-over support and a variety of cosmetic items. The announcement comes after developer Shift Up hinted at bringing the game to more platforms, as well as months of rumors following the game's success on Steam. While no release date has been announced, Stellar Blade's arrival on Switch 2 has been officially confirmed.
