According to an update he provided on X (previously Twitter), Larian Studios CEO Swen Vincke has revealed significant progress in building the first act of a future project. Despite the excitement around this news, Vincke warned fans not to expect an official title announcement anytime soon.
Vincke highlighted his delight at a productive morning in his statement, saying,
"After 4 months of rewriting and revisiting ideas, I've finally figured out what act 1 on this thing I've been working on needs to be."
Despite the fact that the details have not yet been exposed to others, Vincke expressed confidence in the quality of his work, saying,
"Quote me when it's revealed to see how much of today's draft survives. I suspect a lot."
However, he noted that the update is not a preview of an upcoming announcement, highlighting his genuine excitement for the project's path. Vincke shown,
"It's not what you think, and this is not a teaser for an announcement. Just am genuinely excited about where this is going and wanted to share some of my excitement. It'll be quite some time before we talk about this."
Vincke previously discussed his excitement for the studio's next big game in December, after Baldur's Gate 3 was nominated for eight awards at The Game Awards. In response to the honours, he stated,
"I wish I could tell you about our next big game, but this is really encouraging us to ensure it pushes many boundaries. I'm very excited about it."
Due to technical concerns, the Xbox Series X/S release of Baldur's Gate 3, Larian's acclaimed RPG was delayed. It did, however, release in time for last month's The Game Awards, where it won six awards, including Game of the Year, Best Performance, Best Community Support, Best RPG, Best Multiplayer, and Player's Voice.
