The extensively awaited open beta for Final Fantasy 14 for Xbox Series X/S has begun. The beta will begin at 3 a.m. ET / 8 a.m. GMT and last an unknown duration of time.
This beta phase is specifically designed for beginners entering the game for the first time. Existing players with Final Fantasy 14 accounts on other platforms should be patient until the official Xbox launch, as Square Enix has restricted access during the beta.
Square Enix emphasized,
"We ask any players who wish to play Final Fantasy 14 on Xbox with an existing Square Enix account and its associated characters to please wait until the full Xbox launch after the open beta test concludes."
The publisher intends to release the Xbox Series X/S version shortly after the open beta ends. However, the actual launch date is still unknown and will be set following thorough reviews. Beta testers can expect the simplicity of effortlessly moving their data to the final version.
Final Fantasy 14's Series X/S release date was officially announced in June 2023. During the Final Fantasy 14 Fan Festival in Las Vegas, Xbox CEO Phil Spencer stunned fans with the announcement.
The Series X version now supports 4K graphics, and both the Series X and Series S models have faster loading speeds. Exciting news for prospective Xbox players: the Expanded Free Trial, which is already available on PC and PlayStation consoles, has expanded to include the Xbox platform. This means that players can go through the main game A Realm Reborn, as well as the first two expansions Heavensward and Stormblood, to level 70 with no time limits.
However, once players reach level 70, a monthly charge will be required to maintain access to the game. The open beta is an excellent opportunity for players to lose oneself in the thrilling world of Final Fantasy 14 on Xbox Series X/S early to the game official release.
