Microsoft's plans for a new Xbox Series X system codenamed 'Brooklin,' as well as an innovative controller known as 'Sebile,' have been accidently revealed through unredacted court documents relating to the company's current legal conflict with the FTC.

The released materials contain slides that provide information on the planned "Xbox Series X refresh." This upgraded console is said to have increased internal storage, faster Wi-Fi connectivity, lower power consumption, an immersive controller, and an attractive look.

'Sebile,' the new Xbox controller, is expected to include cutting-edge haptic feedback and accelerometer capabilities. It will also include modular thumbsticks and a rechargeable, swappable battery, providing an improved gaming experience for Xbox fans.

The 'Brooklin' console, according to one of the leaked slides, will be released in November 2024 and would have a generous 2TB of storage. surprisingly, Microsoft aims to keep the device at the same $499 price point as the existing Xbox Series X.

Notably, the documents also hint to an Xbox Series S refresh with 1TB of storage, which is scheduled to enter the market in September of the following year. This update is planned to provide various 'Brooklin' features, such as better Wi-Fi compatibility.

Although these information are from April 2022, if they are correct, gamers may expect two significant console upgrades from Microsoft in 2024. In a related development, Sony is apparently developing a more powerful version of the PS5, implying significant rivalry in the game console market.

This publication, interestingly, contrasts previous claims from Xbox CEO Phil Spencer, who previously stated that a mid-cycle upgrade for the Series X was not a major priority for Microsoft. The 'Brooklin' console looks according to the basic specifications of the standard Series X, revealing Spencer's previous mindset.

As players wait for official announcements from Microsoft, the unplanned leak has increased excitement and expectation for the future of Xbox gaming.
