Discover all the religions in Starfield:

  1. Sanctum Universum

  2. The Enlightened

  3. House Va’ruun

In addition, three brand-new religions are offered for selection when creating characters.

Sanctum Universum

The Sanctum Universum is a relatively new religion in the Starfield universe, having emerged only two decades before the game's events. This faith's followers believe that a spiritual presence exists somewhere in the wide universe, actively directing humanity to seek and connect with it. According to their beliefs, the invention of the Grav Drive, which enables interstellar travel, is physical proof of divine guidance and God's desire to be discovered. The Sanctum Universum may be new in the big scheme of cosmic faiths, but its confidence that a higher force awaits discovery among the stars remains constant.

The Enlightened

The Enlightened is a one-of-a-kind atheist organisation in Starfield, dedicated to humanitarian and community service. Their basic tenet is that accepting responsibility for one's actions and actively caring for both the environment and one's fellow humans can considerably improve one's overall quality of life. They exemplify the philosophy of "being the change you want to see in the world." If you want to align with The Enlightened, you must select "Raised Enlightened" as one of your three attributes during character creation. The House of the Enlightened, located in the heart of New Atlantis, serves as the focal focus of their activities.

House Va’ruun

House Va'runn, a cult in Starfield, worships the Great Serpent, which is said to have formed during an interstellar voyage of a colony ship. Following a jump, a colonist claimed to have received a divine decree from the Great Serpent, directing worship or death when it encircles the universe. This strange belief system arose from a crew member's alleged contact with this cosmic entity during a grav leap, with the idea that it will eventually encompass and devour the entire universe.

Do real-world religions exist in Starfield?

True, real-world faiths have been incorporated into Starfield, but unlike factions like The Enlighted, Sanctum Universum, or House Va'ruun, you will not be able to actively join them. Instead, you'll come across NPCs in diverse places who follow real-world belief systems.

Is religion significant in Starfield?

The faith you choose in Starfield has no significant impact on gameplay. Religions mostly provide minor qualities, bonuses, objects, and conversation possibilities. While these additional chat options can help you overcome speech obstacles or complete particular tasks, they will not significantly impact your overall experience. As a result, choosing a religion does not have to be a source of anxiety.

How to Leave Starfield Religions?

Speak with Mir'za in the UC Security Office in New Atlantis to quit a Starfield religion and remove the Serpent's Embrace characteristic.
