The highly anticipated animated series Among Us has returned, causing waves of excitement in the gaming and entertainment worlds. Innersloth, the studio that created the popular game, has announced the first wave of voice actors who will donate their talents to bring the beloved characters to life.

Innersloth announced the excellent set of voice cast members via Twitter/X. Ashley Johnson, best known for her role as Ellie in The Last of Us, will be the series' "Purple" voice. Elijah Wood, best known for his role in the Lord of the Rings saga, will play the character "Green." Randall Park, best known for his role in Fresh Off the Boat, will play "Red," with Yvette Nicole Brown from Community playing "Orange."

Each character brings an own personality to the table. "Red" is referred to be the "Captain of the Skeld," a pleasant yet eager people-pleaser. Meanwhile, "Purple" represents distrust and sarcasm as the chief of security. "Green" portrays a sense of innocence and enthusiasm as an unpaid intern who is simply happy to be a part of the team, but "Orange" depicts a spineless corporate figure from HR.

According to Variety, the show's creator, Owen Dennis, will serve as an executive producer with Innersloth's Forest Willard, Marcus Bromander, and Carl Neisser. The series' executive producers will also include Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, Antonio Canobbio, and Ben Kalina from the animation studio Titmouse.

Despite the excitement surrounding the Among Us animated series, no network or streaming provider has been confirmed as its home.

The new series was first promised last year, promising a gripping story in which crew members must discover an alien shapeshifter among them while managing chaos and danger onboard their spacecraft. This adaptation expands on the game's idea of social deduction, requiring players to identify the "Impostor" before succumbing to their evil ambitions.

Among Us isn't the first game making its way into animated form, indicating a growing trend of video game adaptations that fascinate buyers across several media channels.
