Xbox has finally confirmed the release date for its much-anticipated Fable reboot. During the Xbox Games Showcase 2026, Playground Games debuted a new story trailer and announced that the game will be released on February 23, 2027, for Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PlayStation 5.
The new trailer provided a closer look at Albion, the fantasy world of Fable. It introduced several new characters and plot details while hinting at the main conflict that players will face throughout the adventure.
One of the most important details was that actress Hayley Atwell would play Isabel, a powerful character who believes she is the only hero capable of saving Albion. Isabel's tragic past motivates her mission, but her actions set her on a collision course with the game's main character.
The development team praised Atwell's performance, noting that she brought both strength and emotion to the role. Atwell, best known for her work in Marvel films and the Mission: Impossible series, plays a significant role in Fable's story.
The trailer also hinted at the return of Jack of Blades, one of the most iconic villains in Fable history. While Xbox did not reveal many details, his appearance suggests that he could play a significant role in the reboot's plot.
Fable has been delayed several times, but Xbox says the extra development time will help the game shine when it comes out in early 2027. The game will be available on Xbox Game Pass on launch day and aims to maintain the humor, fantasy, and player choice that made the original Fable games so popular.
