Hades 2 is Coming to PS5 and Xbox Next Month

After months of console exclusivity, Hades 2 is finally reaching a wider audience. Supergiant Games eagerly awaited roguelike sequel is set to arrive on PlayStation and Xbox platforms in April, marking an important step after its initial release.
Hades 2 Release Date for PS5 and Xbox Confirmed
During the Xbox Partner Preview event on March 26, Supergiant Games officially announced that Hades 2 will be available on April 14 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The game will also be available on Xbox Game Pass on day one, providing subscribers with immediate access at no additional cost.
This move comes roughly seven months after the game's initial release on Nintendo Switch 2 and PC in September 2025, where it quickly gained traction among original fans.
Hades 2 Expands the Underworld
In Hades 2, players imagine the role of Melinoë, the Princess of the Underworld. The sequel expands on its predecessor's success with a deeper world, new combat systems, and an evolving narrative with each run.
According to the official description, players will battle the Titan of Time while wielding powers given by the gods of Olympus. Like the original, the story unfolds in a dynamic manner, shaped by both victories and defeats.
Hades 2 upcoming PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions are more than just ports. They include all of the post-launch updates for PC and Nintendo Switch 2, as well as some additional bonus content (details have not yet been revealed). This means that players will immediately benefit from a more polished, content-rich experience.
Hades 2 skips older consoles such as the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, which is surprising given that it runs on the original Switch. Supergiant Games has not explained why, but focusing on current-generation hardware results in improved performance, larger environments, and smoother gameplay. The game expands on the story of the award-winning original Hades, featuring richer mythological worlds, tougher enemies, and a deeper, evolving story.
Hades 2 appears to be another successful release from Supergiant. It's a must-play for both fans of the original game and newcomers, thanks to expanded content and next-generation support.
