Silent Hill: Townfall Reveals First-Person Gameplay in New Trailer

A brand-new gameplay trailer for Silent Hill: Townfall has finally given fans a proper look at the upcoming horror spin-off. The biggest reveal? The game is played entirely in first-person, bringing players closer than ever to the fear and tension inside its haunting coastal town.

The game, developed by Screen Burn Interactive and published by Konami and Annapurna Interactive, was initially announced in 2022. Now, for the first time we are seeing extended gameplay.

The trailer introduces the main character, Simon Ordell, who explores an eerie seaside version of Silent Hill filled with dark streets, abandoned buildings, and terrifying creatures. Players will investigate environments, solve story-driven puzzles, and survive intense encounters.

One cool feature is this gadget called the CRTV. It's like a modern twist on the old Silent Hill radio. Rather than just giving you a heads-up about enemies nearby, the CRTV helps you spot hidden dangers, find story hints, and steer Simon through tricky spots. The first-person view really amps up the immersive, realistic vibe when you're using it.

Combat includes both melee and ranged weapons, but the game strongly encourages smart decision-making. Stealth, hiding, and running away can sometimes be better options than fighting. Enemies react dynamically and can hunt players if too much noise is made.

The environments shown in the trailer look detailed and atmospheric, with heavy fog, flickering lights, and disturbing visuals that match the series’ signature tone. Exploration appears to play a big role, with players carefully searching for clues and hidden signals.

The developers have also said that the PlayStation 5 version will use the cool features of the DualSense controller. You'll feel more tension in combat and stealth scenes thanks to the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers.

Although the story isn't quite like the classics such as Silent Hill 2, the developers assure us that Townfall will still deliver the emotional and psychological horror the series is known for.

Now that you can add it to your wishlist on the PlayStation Store. Judging by the trailer, Silent Hill: Townfall might just turn out to be one of the most unique and intense games in the series.
