Ubisoft has quietly pulled The Crew from digital retailers, announcing that the online-only game will no longer be available in April 2024.The racing game has been removed from Steam today, according to an aware user on ResetEra.
A message on Steam conveys,
“All editions and additional content for The Crew are no longer available for purchase. The game will remain playable until March 31st, 2024, for all The Crew owners. After this date, the game servers will shut down, which means the game will not be accessible anymore.”
The game is also not available on the Xbox and PlayStation shops. Ubisoft has announced plans to discontinue online services for an additional ten of its "older games," including four Assassin's Creed titles, with the closure set for January 2024.
The Crew is an open-world racing franchise developed by Ubisoft Ivory Tower that has gained over 40 million players since the first game's release in 2014.
Following the release of The Crew 2 in 2018 and the September 2023 release of The Crew Motorfest for PC and consoles, Ubisoft has delisted The Crew, meaning that it would be unavailable for play after April 2024.
In similar news, Ubisoft recently registered domain names for 'Might & Magic Fates,' implying future developments in the popular brand. The firm said that the latest game in the series had the "best first week for the franchise in terms of total unit sell-through, overall consumer spend, and season pass adoption rate." Despite this, the game received major discounts a month after its release, and Ubisoft is currently offering a permanent five-hour sample of the game after two time-limited trials.
